I HAVE NO SPARK COMING FROM THE ENGINE, I TURNED IT OVER ON MY DAY OFF AND RAN LIKE A DREAM NO PROBS WHAT SO EVER. THEN I TRIED TO START IT TODAY AND IT WOULDNT KICK OVER WITH NO ATTEMPT TO SPARK, JUST CONTINUALLY WINDING AND WINDING.
WHERE DO I START TO LOOK? THE PLUGS, ;THE COIL, THE BATTERY, FUSES?
01 DELPHI SOFTAIL, RUNNING ALL STOCK ELECTRICS BAR FROM S/EAGLE PLUGS.
I DID RECENTLY INSTALL PRO R HYPERCHARGER (COULD IT BE A SENSOR?)
PC3 COMMANDER. ( COULD SOMETHING GO WRONG THERE) WRONG MAP ETC ETC
AFTER WINDING AND LETTING GO OF THE START BUTTON ABOUT 1SEC AFTER THERE WAS A POP WITH SMOKE COMING OUT THE AIR CLEANER. I KNOW IT ONLY CAME OUT THERE CAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY EXIT FROM THE INTERNALS.

well i was surprised, i am new to this but it kicked over straight away.
i did disconnect the pc3 and it wouldnt start so then i jump started it from the car and it cranked straight away, so i re-connected the pc3 and jump started it and started first time.
could the battery seem to not be weak yet not have enough charge to kick it over??
or do you think that taking the plugs out cleaning them up and fiddling with the connections may have rectified something that may have been a miss?
either way i aint counting my chickens yet. but dont wanna spend 240 on battery if i dont need to.
but i wont sacrifice the integrity of the bike if it needs it will get it... but miss out on my new harley jacket for awhile
Get the battery load tested. At least that way you will be able to dicount it to a degree. Most Battery stores should do that free.
