Hello all, this is my first post since picking up my new Deluxe (2005 new),  10 weeks ago. I have travelled about 4500k's in this time and am very happy with my investment. (I told my wifey that this bike is an investment!!!) I love everything about it except the damn seat. It is an odd shape, too far back and way too low. I tend to sit too close to the tank. I am considering a Fat Boy seat and pillion. I have my eye on a late model one, the bloke has no clue what year model it's off. He says it is brand new, never used. My question is, will it fit my Deluxe? I will probably remove my luggage rack to accomodate the wider thicker pillion seat.

Thankyou for your response. I'll look at Motor Trimmers in Sydney. If I can pick up a Fatboy seat for a couple of hundred$$$ (hoping), I might go for it. In saying that, you're right about the bars. Big wide Roadking or Beach Bars certainly look cool, but being only a short 6'0 and average arms, I'd have to ride a bike with them first.
What do you have on your Deluxe? Can you post a couple of pictures?

Hi Rob, I didn't like the seating position on the Deluxe either, so i lost the pull back risers and replaced them with straight 2" and from  memory, 48" western bars. (I'm 6' tall). This may be another option for you rather than changing the seat. Let us know how you go.

Well the masculine picture does'nt really do it for me but certainly is a sweet ride. I'll pick up the seat next week, and post my thoughts then. By the way, I bought a Prolift T2151 motorcycle lift from Repco yesterday for $149. Bloody good deal. Considering the how low the Deluxe is, I struggled to find a comparable lift for the money.

Well I finally picked up the seat and pillion, spent half an hour or so fitting it (mainly trying to line up the pillion with the rear bracket, and after some pushing and shoving she's on. Whoo whoo!!!! Took it for a test ride...........

Vast improvement!!! I sit up pehaps an 30-40mm and back about 30mm. Very cumfy. A little firmer than the old seat but very good overall. Importantly, the pillion is wide and comfy for the wifey, and I'm debating whether to leave the pillion on as it acts as a support on my lower back. How the hell do I insert a picture??
