Federal parliament's bikies have urged other Australians to get their motors running.
Liberal bikies Brendan Nelson and Albie Schultz have attended the launch of an Australian Motorcycle Council campaign to sell the benefits of riding motorbikes, and to promote safety.
Former opposition leader Brendan Nelson has been riding for more than 30 years, and loves his Triumph Speedmaster.
"It is long past time that on both sides of politics we incorporate motorcycling into Australia's road transport strategy," Dr Nelson told reporters.
Fellow Liberal Albie Schultz said he was parliament's sole one-eyed motorcyclist, following an accident some years ago.
"One thing that motor bikes have done for me, which I never thought would happen, is that it has made me turn more to the left," he said.
