    17.  A cheaper jet kit for your carb, will work just aswell as the more expensive.  If you know the jet sizes & buy the needle that's all u need most of the time.

    18.  Make sure u lube your cables as they die quicker otherwise.

    19.  Mostly cheaper tools (screwdrivers/wrenches etc.) will last almost as long as the more expensive ones. (minus anything with a motor).

20.Get the steering head bearing re-packed every 7-8 yrs to minimise accidents and handling woes. Also remember the rear wheel bearings need greasing at least every time u change tyres.

21.The only oil additive I would recommend is Zinc/phosphorus additive if your oil is 1000ppm Zn or less.(Bring the Zn level up to 1200-1400ppm).

    22.  Fill her up with Premium fuel as this generally reduces: detonation/pinging etc.  If your a cheap bastard mix it with cheap stuff.  If u want a kick buy aviation petrol around 110 Octane.

    23. If your storing your bike & u store it with a full tank add any fuel stabilizer to it.  Fuel is like lemonade, it goes flat.

    24. Tighten your fastners at every service as they wiggle loose.

    25.  When u ride your bike try to ride 90Ks or more give the water a chance to burn of in the engine.  This way your engine will last longer.

    26.  Select an oils viscosity to match the outside temp. that's what influences engines the most. E.g.- 10w50, 15w40 in winter. 20w50,15w50,25w60 etc. summer.  If its syn. u can use it all your round if it's pour point is -33C or below.

If anyone is wondering HD 360 is API SH.

Harley plugs are made by Champion.

If your exhaust pops on de-acceleration it is to lean.

If it backfires on acceleration it's too rich.

API SH&SJ Car oils do damage your clutch & engine. They cause starter clutch slippage, detonation & cam wear. This is due to molybedum/ graphite etc.

I would avoid newer API SM car oils too as Porsche mechanics & people in the industry state that there isn't enough zinc & phosphrus too promote extended engine life in Porsche engines.

They are heavily friction modified.(Porsche engine are aircooled, high RPM & similar to Harley engines).

I'm guessing if used in Harley engines it would only meet minimum engine life: 160,000Ks EVO & 208,000Ks TWIN CAM.

    Avoid friction modified oils.

The oils to go for are: JASO MA, API: SF,SH,SG,SL(motorcycle oil specific)& Diesel engine rated: CF-4,CG-4,CI-4& CI-4plus.
