I want to get my stock Fat Boy wheels Chromed,

 

Do you know or recomend anyone who can do this ?

Can alloy wheels be chromed?

How about the rough texture of the Fatboy wheel. Does that need smoothing?

I know I'd rather polish chrome instead of alloy

As Sir Garfield says, they polish the wheels before they go through the coating process.

The only real issue is that with the process that's used in Straylia, sometimes chrome doesn't quite take properly and you can get some imperfections in the finish.
From what I understand, there's no way to predict whether it will happen or how bad it will be.

But it's only wheels and if you catch someone crawling around on the ground just to get that close to your wheels, you should just fkn kick them anyway.

Unless it's your missus with the Mr Sheen of course.

Because I was born with the "anti alloy polishing" gene, I've had a few ally engine covers chromed and they mostly have been great but I have had some that were less than perfect. But only the odd one and I could live with it.

good idea to look at the mag's......since the interweb forums have been around it's been a long time since I bought a mag

i had my polisht wheel chromed, i recon it was a bit crapy ,see where the dager has the rough part , that was the bad bit , also scratches in the chroming, id do it again if they had that tripple plating here in adel, thinking about getting the centre of the 07 fatbay wheels powder coated
