Is a Hiace and supposed to be able to run on the stuff BUT i never had motor probs until i started using it (pinging bad and eventually new head and the rest)....less mileage and power.
Im not a mechanic but the place that repaired it suggested it probably was the E10.....That was enough for me to stay away from it...I think the HD book says it can be used in ya scoot but i have never met anyone who actually uses it.......May very well be ok to use but im just not goin to take that chance again just to save a few bob.....
BTW...nevera prob since going back to regular in me van......the greenie in me wants to use it

My belief is to stick what is recommended in the manual which is 95 in australia. I'm sure the bike will run on E10 but for how long, trying to save a few cents here could be very expensive down the track. Again it's entirely up to the individual but I would not be putting into my baby.

It does say in the manual that you can use E10 in the later models, but NO WAY would I use that crap. Saw the latest Orange County Chopper DVD series and they built a bike for some farmers group, and they had to use E85. The carby was a different set up naturally, but it worked okay. But who knows the long term effects. The ethanol debate is swayed towards using the stuff to suit the corn farmers in my opinion.

Which begs the question, what brand of fuel do you run. I was told that Caltex was the best by someone, then another bloke rekons BP, but all I know is that I keep away from the big supermarket servo's as they do sell inferior quality fuel. A mechaninc has worked on cars that used the Woolies stuff and it stuffed the motor.

I used a tank full of the stuff on my way to Broken Hill last christmas and it didn't make any difference to power or anything but I had no choice it was either E10 or deisel. Haven't used it since though.

After what we paid for our bikes ,why on earth would you want to risk putting E10 in. I say spend the extra dollar and put 95 in.

By the way, I wasn't suggesting that anyone should use it in their Harley. I was just asking the question about what the owners manual says.

I agree with one of th previous guys; after paying so much for our bikes why would you take a chance ?

Give it time and you won't have a choice..

bit by bit the enviro nazis will force us to use more and more Ethanol (isn't a proprotion of Eth compulsory in NSW as of next year?)

    Its coming..

Haven't used Ethanol, when I bought the bike I got a very strong warning from the Dealer never to use it in a Harley? Got the same thing from Suzuki when I had my Gixxer, I'm not a mechanic but when the dealers say dont use a particular type of petrol, I figure it must be for good reason.

I heard the other day that one of the states - Victoria I think, the servos are dropping E10 completely. Shell I think are not selling it anymore.

If I can find the info I will post it.

    EDIT - I found it....

As reported in The Age newspaper:

"Shell will stop selling the environmentally friendlier fuel at all 63 of its 200 Victorian service stations that offer it, but will continue to sell E10 in other states".
