Hello all i am a Newbie to this site but hope to find some one who knows the Tappet clearances on my old 84 Evo FXR  or knows where i can get them from its gettin a bit loud in that department not that i blame it i run it from Gold Coast to Brisbane 6 days a week so if some one could help or have a workshop manaul for sale that would be Awesome Cheers Mike.

It Has push rods you can ajust it had a top end done just before i got it so i suspect now every thing has settled in thay need to be re ajusted so its not like the new stuff with hydrollic lifters there is nothing to shim on this old girl just ajust.Like my old shovel.

O the kms its done 160,000 miles and still rocks on every day like a charm.

Well Ozroder you were pretty much right most of this stuff on your list was Stuffed Done a Ground up rebuid now and its 95 Lighting McQueen now running awesome done new valves,lifters,primary chain,oil pump,wisco piston kit cam reshim,respray engine,tank, frame,wheels,wide glide front end,new tyres chain ,sprokets,blinkers ,headlight ,seat ect ect ect looking good now Think i might even enjoy riding it now.

Na needs no work now i was replin to an old post but bike was goin good up to 3 months ago started chattering on take of striped it down to look for may be cracked piston but you could see in the bore that it had left four marks from top to bottom so rebuild everything.
