I was pulled over by two police two weeks ago.

They saw my DOT helmet just made some comment like "their standard is really low.." nothing. Days after I saw Harley Davidson dealer was selling DOT helmet too. So I guess this is legal now (Mar 2019).

DOT is not legal here, ECE is now legal here though which opens us up to a lot of DOT/ECE approved helmets (I just got the new biltwell Gringo ECE).

I’ve been pulled twice in the last month, both times they went through the helmet checking tags, in the cops words ‘I don’t care about the sticker on the back, if there’s no tag sewn in I’ll book you’

Do ECE approved helmets have a tag sewn into the lining?

    I didn't think they did...

And what’s ludicrous is all the stitched tag has is Exx with the xx being s number based on where the helmet is made, one of mine is E11.. same as my washing machine.

Ahhh ok... thanks for the info.
These helmet law changes do give more choice but they're confusing the hell out of me LOL
