    Gday all

Thanks for the friendly welcome - still getting to know how to work this site .. someone sent me a PM about the blower - read it and thought "id answer it later .... but then couldn't find where to access teh message again after it popped up and told me I had one.... anyway I'll ask a teenager when I see one....

I"ll try and answer allthe questions that I can recall... and if you recognise the question and I haven't answered it please let me know ...

I bought the bike as an ex development bike direct from the guys at Sprintex in Perth through BikeSales.com... it now has around 20000kms onit and  and after having ridden the standard vrod the broad spread of power is probably the biggest difference. When I had a 1340 it was all low down torque and was quite happy to lug along but also (given enough of a wind up...) could happily belt along at 180+ (after I added cams/lifters cdi and a standard go fast breathing bits) When I first rode a Vrod I was a bit dissapointed until after the 3 rday when I tried kicking it down a gear at 100km/h .. whoosh... then noticed the tacho was no where near redline so kicked it down again .... and PHAAAARKKKK it went .... so the secret seemed to be in the revs... (very Uh-Harley) .. whereas my old 1340 didnt have the rev limiter restriction I knew it wasn't making power in the higher rev range (i.e over 5000 rpm)  the Vrod only STARTS making decent power at 5000.

Enter the Supercharger ... this delivers massive amounts of fuel/air right from the get go ... so much so that the guys at Sprintex added an EXTRA injector.... the upshot is that it makes good useable torque from 3000 revs all the way up to 7500 .... with redline at 9000 .... on the power side of things... it boosts this to a peak of  around 160hp at the rear wheel in top gear

The only downsides I ahve come across are when you give it the berries .... it sucks fuel like four poddy calfs on a dry day in december   ..... but that is the trade off for massive power gains ... if I wanted economy I could buy a vespa ....I ended up springing for a larger 20lt  aftermarket fuel coz a) I hated having to crawl to the petrol station after a big fang hoping I wouldnt have to push it... and b) the petrol gauge on the Vrods is about as reliable as a politician in election mode.

It came with an upgraded Barnett high performance Kevlar clutch which is a bit touchy but certainly manageable for day to day commute to work.... Vance & Hines pipes which give it a nice note but not obcscenely loud aprt from that everything invcluding the ECU is stock HD

If I had a wishlist ... it'd have a bit more ground clearance ... the later model Brembos and a shorter stretch to the pegs (coz I have Ducks Disease) and the pipes get a bit hot on the inside leg apart from that it is just awesome in sound, speed, acceleration and often gives the "matching helmet-jacket-tank-girlfriend" set a suprise....  and probably some better springs (interesting read on the Ikon shocks in another post I saw on here by "nobody" and have sent off an email to them and Bertrand at Fournales) .... oh yeah ..and maybe some lighter wheels....these onesLOOK good... but are quite heavy at low speed and do act like sails in windy conditions.. but not as huge a problem as some think... just takes getting used to like any bike.

Anyway hope that answers the question and thanks for the interest ..

    Cheers
