Having such good success with my last post (which was also my first) i though i would try another question.

I am seeking advice on how best to set up the Boy for carrying overnight gear. My two choices are saddlebages or a sissy bar/rack and soft luggage whihc attachs to it.

 

I don't really like the look of either ( i have a bobber look that I am trying to develop) so would only mount the stuff when on tour.

 

The HD saddlebages are really expensive, especially the detachable version. About $1500, whiel the sissy bar/rack option would cost about $1000. I have also seen a single seat rack in the 08 catalogue taht is available now for wide tyre Fat Boys, has anyone seen one?

I have an '08 Fatboy and I use the touring bags that slip over the sissybar. There is an overnight bag plus a larger one that you can fit heaps of stuff in. they can be used on their own or together. they are very good. May not suit the look you are after though.
