First big road trip

    Heading up to QLD (surfers of course) and maybe further nth next month.....so can any of you hard core mile lovers give me any advice on what sort of kit i should pack??? If i dont ask i will end up with a surfboard strapped to the back  a harley assist card and not much else.......Any advice appreciated as in times best to avoid roos and the like....I have no idea what things i may need on the way cause im a

    well TB got it right with the wallet thing, as far as anything else thats up to you mate , at least with the roadie you have got a bit of space in those bags to put some stuff. have a good trip and we might see you for a ride.

    2 pair of jeans i to wear 1 to clean.
    1 collared shirt to go out in.
    3 t-shirts
    thongs, sand shoes dont need boots u will be wearing them .
    fishing rod probs 4 peice small amount tackle.
    sleeping bag . small tent pending on money.
    australia motorcyle atlas.
    dry as a bone
    clear glasses for night riding.
    alltho comming to QLD u might need a jumper
    thats probs all id take

    Take a puncture repair kit, the ones with the O2 bottles in them. Or ring your forum buddies. Welcome down SA way anytime mate. Have a great trip.

    Done that ride heaps of times Hoody and as the lads said....wallet, Ipod or similar and change of clothes.

    Watch riding in early morn or arvo as that is the roo running over time which i have nearly done several times.

    Plenty of speed cameras too...enjoy mate and ride safe!

    Wise man once said "Saddlebags can't hold everything you want, but they can always hold everything you need".
    I'm still finding that I pack about half a saddlebag that I never use, so my suggestion is take half as much stuff as you think you need, and twice as much cash.

    +1 to some garbage bags, and also to spare bandannas, they can wipe things, tie things, bandage things... the list goes on

    Hoody.... Sydney to Brisvegas is but a stroll in the park mate... just a change of jocks in case you have a close call on the ride up

    Heheheh...thanx heaps yoll......a lot of top ides there and now to cut that in half again.........had no idea at all.......man i hope it doesnt leave me with erectile dysfunction.......thanx again for the info and got a few meet stops on the way up that i wouldnt miss for the world.....

    Hehehehe.........least there will be no pics this time mate....lol.......HB will not let a bug get too settled on the blingmobile...although it doesnt get polished as much as it used to......or the bike.......but there aint NO way i be meeting flan with a clean bike on a tour.....even if i have to throw dirt over it first.......i can hear him now..........

    13 Nullabor trips, 2 Perth Adelaide Darwin, 1 Qld Melb. Took most  of what all have said here but most important  I took my time. Take care mate and take your time.

    good on ya hooda, just do it and learn from your mistakes. I't gets into your blood and before you know it you want to be on the road again. enjoy the experience, good or not so.
