just looking through Bikesales website and happened to come across MY 04 fatboy for sale at a price far lower than i originally advertised it for on ebay and by someone with a name other than myown.

the cheeky scaming bastards think that we are all dumb or something , a low klm 04 fatboy for $8700 and we'll put the money into your offshore acount because unfortunately you've had to leave the country in a hurry but once someone pays the money the bike will be delivered to your door, YEAH RIGHT.

    makes me mad !!!

just expect another email from them , because they really think people are stupid enough to believe in these deals. see if you can haggle with them you might get your bike back for a good price and be able to make some more money on it.!hehehe!

This scam is rife in things like Trading Post, stacks of dummy ads - usually more on things like jet ski's.
You report it, they remove the ad within about 3 days, and it's reposted within 12 hrs.

What shits me is that we have to put up with that crap yet trading post etc still profit from it.
Let alone the heartache if someone is dumb enough to fall for it.

Thinking about it, someone must fall for it (& hard) now and again or they would'nt bother spending money to keep doing it eh?

Your right on the money SG.................Unfortunately there are suckers silly enough to fall for these scams...............

I read an interesting article a while back where some guys were scamming and exposing the scammers, they set up a false account with little money in it, haggle with the scammer and make them believe they are on a winner. They get the scammer to drop thier guard and possibly get them to reveal thier location. mostly in Nigeria, in the end they let the scammer know theyer on to them, problem is there's too bloody many of them.........And Ebay etc are facilitating them............

if it's not bikes it's russian brides lol. almost hard to believe but i had two mates fall for that one, & no matter how much i told one of them he seemed to think he was in love. dropped $5000 unfuckenbelievable. stood at the airport for hours with flowers in hand like a dick to. the bike scam thing has been going for donkeys now. almost as long as we've had the internet. would be nice to get hold of one or more of these little fuck rats

yeah your talking about the nigerian money laudering scam, you know the one you get email every day along the lines of "can't get royal family money out if you can set-up an acct on our behalf we can transfer the 10 billion dollars offshore and we'll give you 20% as a fee" then they very slowly sucker you in to Western Union them $2k for paperwork etc.

there was a fellow who tried to confront them like you say, he thought he was safe as he met there "embassy representative" in London at his hotel room, confronted them etc, they kicked the fuck out of him, stole his wallet, credit cards & watch, and then stabbed him to death.

7.30 report did do a bit of an undercover op that netted a couple of them but it was a bit of a stunt etc.

My advice is obviously; don't be stupid enough in the first place, but if you are & you do get stung,
then probably best to drop the pride, learn from your lesson and back the fuck off.
