Ride Wright Wheels for 08 Street Bob fitment problem

    Howdy All,

Just bought a set of Ride Wrights for 08 Street Bob (or so I thought...)
Prior to ordering the wheels from Zanotti, I've called Ride Wrights and confirmed their part numbers. Finally got the wheels last week.
The front 21 x 2.15 doesn't fit the bike at all. The bearing is a wrong size, the off-sets are all wrong and the hub is too big. I now need to do some major machining of parts (brake caliper, etc) or exchange the wheel for the correct size.

Does anyone know the correct Ride Wright part # that would fit the 08 Street Bob.? It seems that Ride Wright's don't know their own part numbers of have no idea what would actually fit 08 Street bob.

    Cheers
    Vlad

I ordered a set of American Wire Wheels from the States. Told them the model and year of the bike, even the VIN. Wheels arrived and went straight on, no probs at all. I know that this doesn't really help you, but they were a company that were good to deal with and product was delivered as ordered. I would have thought that bearings and spacer were a relatively easy fix. I would still notify Ride Wright so they can get it right for the next customer.

I bloody well wish it was just a bearing and a spacer issue.
I've got the wheel bearing changed over to the new wheel. However new spacers don't help at all.
The spokes hit the brake caliper. The wheel hub is way too wide. The only way around this is to machine down the brake caliper and then experiment with spacers.
I simply don't want to do this "heavy duty" machining to fit the wheel that supposed to have fitted straight on.

I am now trying to get the wheel swapped over via Zanotti. (they ordered it for me from Ride Wright).

    Vladt,
The hubs are different between the narrower and wider rims. We have fitted the wider rim to the softail standards and customs with minor spacer mods etc. We fitted a 2.15 to the softail standard and fit straight up using stock bushes.  Not sure what the stock hub and wheel width is on your dyna?

    regards

    Mick

I have a feeling they shipped me a wide glide hub instead of the narrow glide I've originally ordered. I've emailed them off and awaiting for their response.
In the mean time, I'll try and measure stock hub width on my dyna.

Well I am following this up right now with Zanotti and hoping for the best. I am simply not looking forward to shelling another $200 to have the wheel posted back. I wonder if I get Ride Wrights to ship me the hub only, would anyone be able t re-lace the ride wirght wheel for me?!
