KC, just looked at my work roster and I'm a dayshift that day so unable to attend. It's also the local toy run here in Pirie, which is a real bumma. However if I can wangle a day off I would be intrested to head down to the above event. I noticed the contact guy is Mick Wright. He is a bloke that I grew up with in this area and haven't seen him for years. He's been into flying most of his life, started with control wire model planes then onto radio controlled, then to owning his own plane. In fact I was one of the groomsmen in his wedding and I remember the day being about 40 degrees in the new temps and it was bloody hot in a bag of fruit, and a church that was hot as hell. Would be good to catch up with Mick as well as any other SA mob.......twincam88b tc (will see if I can get a day off work)

I'm working on the day of the MRA Toy Run so it would be good to get one Toy Run done for the year.

Ok, I spoke to Ken, he rekons getting there early is the way to go so I'll be at the Mobil servo next to Bunning at Parafield at 8:00am. We'll aim to get there by around 9:30am.

KC, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do yet, still to be discussed with the chief passenger. But I did contact Mick Wright last night and to my surprise he is in hospital, been laid up for a while. He is having treatment for throat cancer, poor bugga. I have managed to get the day off work, so it's a toss up to go to the aero club or our local Toy Run. I would have liked to have seen all the planes flying around the district.

Just an update on this, I've decided to head up there a bit later in the day as I've got a breakfast to go to. I'll be at the servo at 11:30am. Spoke to Ken and he said the best time to get up there would be around 12:00 to 2:00pm anyway.

Well I was there at the Mobil Servo at 1100h. I ended up heading off about 1120h as a couple of bikes left Bunnings Car Park and I thought I had missed the boat. Good run up there and had a few problems locating the place but eventually got there and it was blowing a gale. Mongrel trip back as well. Straight into a head wind all the way, my arms were getting cramps from holding on so hard. And Bugs, little buggers were lining my head up, one bugger gave me a third eye it hit that hard.

I will give the pilots one thing, the wind was that bad up there a lot of people didn't come along because of it. I was watching some of these guys take off into the wind and thought a couple of them werre going to flip over. Bigger balls than a Brahma Bull.

Damm 5 mins. Atm my face feels like a hot potato. I got to get myself a mask, I got bad wind burn from today.

Bugs and wind yep after our Edenhope ride i went and got a full face helmet and got to say its fantastic no bugs no sore red eyes and it can rain as much as it wants cos i wont feel a thing

Yeah, I rekon after my friggin bee sting I'm going to be wearing my full face on country rides more often.
