nothing to worry about it happens on new brakes on new discs. It's because they don't lightly file the brakes before putting them in at the factory.

Never really had the noise, but the factor pads are messy when it comes to the dust.  I got Ferodo pads on my bike now.  Work great and no mess.

The dying whale noise means you have completly glazed the pads. Sorry, you don't win a prize for this. The other squil like a girl noise that comes next is from that glaze burning. Easy fix, pull the pads out, rub in circular motion on semi-smooth concrete, wash off and re-install.

But why would you, a lump of wood would work better than the OE pads!

Here a thought. Now that I have saddle bags I could store a lenght of rope and a ancore to toss out at red lights, couldn,t be worse than standard brake pads.

Are you supposed to use the front brakes?
