I pick up my new FXSTC next week and have allredy spent 5 grand predelivery.I now want to lower it but at $120 hr labour i was thinking it may be a job i could do myself. Just wondering whats involved and how much for parts.        Thanks Willo

Man these dealers know how to charge..120 bucks an hour what a joke...if your changing the shockies you will need a jack to lift the bike off the ground and a manual as well..not hard at all. You will need to check your belt tension after lowering is done.

A bike lift is the one for the job.I use mine all the time.

Fare call Beeza your probably right mate but i just resent paying $120hr for labour.I would love to earn just half that . The $5000 was mainly parts.

Don't get the dealer to do it. there plenty of Harley workshops around I'm sure their pricing will be more competetive.

Mate, if ya just getting the lowering bolts put in get the dealer or an indipendent mechaic to do it. It takes 30-40 minutes and its hassel free (forthem). Unless you already have the tools and manual and hassel removal pill handy.

But I hate working with anything under a heap of spring tension.

Hey WILo, if your in Perth, I've got a set of shocks off my 07FXSTC with the lowering bolts already installed for sale. I have the jack and a spare couple of hours to install them!  Why am I getting rid of the shocks, I installed a set of progressive 422 and do not need the originals.
