I was wondering how people are going with their Heavy Duty Magazine. I signed up for a 2 year subsciption last month(because it's a good read and i want to win the sportster so the wife wont ride my bike) and have only just received my mag last night, but the mag has been for sale at the newagents for a while now. Is this always the case or just bad luck for my 1st time? I thought that it was ment to get to subscribers 1st.
Hey,
I subscribe and find It seems to come out in shops prior to arriving at your door, usually only by a few days !
Hey DLUX 66 are you a Kiwi, because I always thought of it as a snatch and not a snitch?
I buy Heavy Duty mag from the local News Agent, it's a good read...............
I don't think Doc likes forums much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tapey,
I subscribe too and mine arrived in the mail on Nov 7th. I really enjoy reading it pretty much from cover to cover. If I'm flying out anywhere I actually save the mag so I have something to look forward to when I get on the bloody plane!!
I think the mag is pretty well balanced. I personally love the custom bikes as long as they are road ready but I see that many guys don't. Whatever......
I think we all need to understand that mags, like TV and sport, is financed by sponsors (advertisers). A top sportsman is very quick to always thank his sponsors FIRST as without them there is NO sport.
As a result, you need to "read-between-the-lines" to get an accurate reading of the writer's intentions. If "Doc" says something like "the ride was not up to my expectations" , he probably means that the ride was crap!
If he says what he really thinks then the mag loses an advertiser. All the advertisers' other products may be brilliant but the public, that's us, are generally unforgiving miserable shits who will rubbish a company for making just one product that is not absolutely perfect.
I don't know any of these guys but I would put money on the fact that they are genuine bike-lovers like you and me just trying to make a living out of their passion. Wouldn't YOU give up your job to work on a bike mag???
If you don't like something they say then either don't buy the mag or send them an email and bloody well tell them what you think BEFORE you tell the rest of the world on the Internet. You might be surprised to find that they are actually human..... well....... almost.... apart from drinking too much beer and having too much facial hair..... hehehe
cheers
