Before I get my bike I was wondering what security measures most guys use when their bike is at home. How good is the factory alarm/immobiliser?  What is the most effective way to anchor these things down?

I am interested in hearing peoples answers.

For every defence there's a counter. However HD do a great disc lock for the front wheel this is a good measure plus a Fort Knox
    style garage/shed.

If your worried about someone riding off on it take the spark plug leads off and walk away.

Managed to get around the security on my bike the other day. Accidently

Thought to myself, shit that was easy.

One word of advice, use the key supplied to lock all that can be locked

    CVB,

I've heard that the 07-08 security system is very good but as an extra precaution I also:

    - use a Xena disk lock with in built alarm

    - use a Krytponite anchor system with a 5ft chain that goes around both the frame and the forks

    - have a garage security sensor (part of the house alarm system)

    - make sure i lock the forks and the ignition switch

I reckon if they get through all this so be it - that's why it is insured!

PS. It's also in a locked garage

A Bull mastiff bitch with a very large head, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x, and a sign with tresspassers will be eaten and not by the dogs.
