Purchased an 08 Softail, 1 month latter went back to the dealer??? to arange a time to discuss a warranty issue only to be abuse, he must have been having a bad day. Still no excuse to abuse a customer in the shop while it was full, on top of that it took 6 month to get replacement parts and I fitted them. Also had the wrong wheel bearing spacers fitted!!
Any one had the same experience.
WC
On top of that the dealer told me they were only tin and metal, I thought dealers had a passion for HD's and stand by them ensuring there customers were satisfied with there service...after all its for our own best interest if our bikes are up to scratch not just another job that come through the work shop.
Where are you located buddy ?
Which dealer was it ?
I wouldn't let them get away with it without going to the top; find out who the general manager/owner is and write them a letter or complaint. I would also threaten to send a copy to HD Australia.
Maybe they are pissed off with the parts I purchased from the US...that shouldn't be an issue though I did buy the bike from them and they did fit a few parts I got from the US...and charged me as well..I didn't mind paying for the fitment.
As for the dealer mmmm I'll leave it for know and see if anyone has had the same problems.
General Manager!
Funny though when I copped the abuse a comment was made...and I told HD australia about you...Just like a kid crying to mum I thought.
Gee Scotty, I can't imagine that of you at all
But I can imagine you'd have a few walk away, probably saying to themselves "Bloody hell, why'd he even come in here? he knows more than any of us"
Riding bikes for 30 odd years and been around many dealers throughout the country these guys are prob still learning as we all do with the way technology moves..That how it is hey.
just name the dodgie bastards, I have had poor service and half finished repairs from the service dept at Sunshine Coast HD since they opened and am getting shit service from HD Australia at the moment but Sunshine Coast HD have 2 blokes in their service dept now that know what a phone is for and know how to use it, they are giving me great service, always ring back and follow up concerns for you, as for HD Australia, they let the calls go through to message bank and seem to think it's aceptable to call you back some days later, fuckin hopeless. now for the state service manager in Qld, this one is really special, HD couldn't make a decission on a paint repair on my rear guard when the guard struts rubbed through until he had inspected it, allgood I understand the system, so he came and inspected it on the 23rd of Sept and to date has still not made a decission, whats the point of having a manager if he can't/won't make a decission
thats my 2 bobs worth....
ratsmow,
so does your local dealer work on your bike.
Thats fukd Wildchild. I would keep a record of what happened in a diary so that if something happens later on you can go straight to the top. If it's all recorded they dont have a leg to stand on, but if you say " i think that it was on the Monday, or Tuesday", they will laugh at you, but if you have the facts on paper they have to listen to you. A written diary even stands up in the court of law. Good luck and dont take any shit from them. You own a Harley now, get an attitude and get angry, or even.
