Bike maintenance/servicing

My bike is approaching 1 year old and I have done around 5,000ks. My question is should they be serviced based on kilometres or is it better to do them annually?

Also, the bike has had slip-ons, a/c and PC3 fitted since the dealer last saw it, do they frown upon this and squirm out of any warranty issues.

    Appreciate any comments.

Mine's just over a year old and I've chalked up around 7,500km. I've started doing my own servicing, took it to a shop for the 1000k, but before our weekend trip I did the 6,500 myself. Did it at around 5,500 but in future will do it every 4,000.

08 Fatboy 750klms at the moment...In the owners manual recomended first service is 1600klm, I would rather do the first service at 1000klm and follow on with 5000klm services there after. Any thoughts.

On the oil issue, I use mineral oil and would rather run in a new engine with this oil. How many klms before you engine is run in.

After run in period I am considering using Fully Syn but not sure which one to use...HD brand, Mobile 1, Amsoil.

Any one got suggetions on the brand of oil to use.

Had my FatBob since Apr this year and have done 15,500 km so far, have got it serviced in accordance with the book, 1600km, 8,000 km and the next will be 16000 km and switch to syn oil. Doing it all myself now, got a manual and a fucking big anti dealer attitude.

5000km intervals with the engie oil/filter and alternating at 10,000km with tranny and primary. This way I only ever have to change 2 oils at any one time and it's still much more frequent than the service manual suggests and it's easier to keep track of on the speedo.

Service is based on both KMs & length of time. Service under 8000KMs & 1 year for oils & general servicing.   If running mineral in engine I would change twice a year; one for summer & one for winter (different weights). Should be fine.
Check the bike over now & again

    I'm doing 4,000 k changes as well.

Bike has 68,000 k's on it and has just turned 3.

Lucky that I havn't been riding it much in the last 12 months.
