More cam questions

I am thinking of changing the cams in my 96B as well to get a bit more out of the engine.

Frasers have suggested SE211's, but talking to a few others, they are suggesting SE204's. (I am going to go with SE due to not wanting to void any warranty issues)

Does anyone know if there are any sites showing dyno curves for the 2 different cams with stock engine. (it does have a SERT, S&S slipons and air cleaner mods) or any sites where this has been discussed before.

Whats the general concensus from those who have fitted either of these cams.

I am looking for lower to mid range torque and a bit more HP and at this stage am not thinking of any other engine mods. (I have read that the 211's go better with a 103 kit, which is why I'm wondering why Frasers suggested it.)

So brains trust.................any comments would be helpfull.

    cheers

    Johno

Yeh I know PIB and I will probably go that way. What I am trying to find out is why Frasers have suggested 211's when the SE performance blurb says that 211's should be used on higher compression motors or 103 kits.
I reckon Scottys right and they don't have a map for 204's with a SERT.
I will check it out tomorrow and post their response. (I think BT runs a thundermax)

Frasers told me the same thing Alan, but I'm not necessarily after HP, just some more torque low to mid and from what I can find the 204's should be better.........hence my question to our esteemed forum community.

    Alan,
I'm heading down Sat to have a chat about it with the service guys.
Mine to is the 8K service as well and from all the net surfing today and talking to a few guys I think the 204's are the go so I will get them installed at the service.
(One of the guys at work is a custom Harley bike builder and has all the software in case I need it as well). I will keep you informed.

Picked the bike up from Frasers this arvo after having the 204's fitted. Only a few km's from there to home, but in that distance there is a noticeable difference with the bike........quite pleased.
HP is up at 82 and torque 92 with a smooth curve from 2200 to 5200, hopefully I will get out on the weekend and try it out.
Cant give a cost because Frasers mucked me around a bit and when they finally did the job they did the right thing by me and reduced the price.........good service in the end.
