Anyone got any ideas what to look for when inspecting your motor mounts on a Dyna, do I just look for worn rubber or is there a special technique to checking  them?

    LMAO good point.
    they must be ok then.

The manual is a bit vague they just say to check the rubber I can't even see the fucking rubber.

The front rubber mount is under the oil filter, the rear one is on the rear center of the transmission case, to see the rear 1 the bike will have to be lifted unless you got a small head. There is also a top mount that bolts onto each head with bracket and a cross arm that mounts to to chassis have to lift the front of the tank to inspect this one.
1 Check for cracks or tears in the isolator rubber.
2 Check stabilizer links for wear.
3 Check that all engine mount bolts are tight.
4 Check engine mount rivets are not sheared.
Check the mounts are supporting the weight of the motor.

Yeah I have read that article thanks appreciate the link.
I will do that before I fit the true track.
when I am in gear riding at anything above 80k's under that it vibrates a bit especially when idling I have 1-1/2" bars and they vibrate a lot at idle.
A bit more than a 2001 sporty anyway.
