Whaever you do, try and avoid the Ballarat to Horsham run, Bloody DULL !

If you do, watch for cops esp' around Ararat, and all along the Western Hway.

Try the Glenelg hway out of Ballarat towards Hamilton, turn off out of Dunkeld up to Edenhope.

The last stretch is pretty good for stretching your "legs"

Or a detour via the Grampians is also good if you have time. Turn off at Ararat to Halls Gap and then around to Horsham.

You'll find some brilliant tight twisties between Halls Gap and Mckenzies falls.

be careful if you are going through lake bolac/ wickliffe. know a lot of guys been nabbed through that area
