new question for anyone to answer,, i been talking to a lot of people and now i am confused on what to do, dealer suggests se pro super tuner, outer cycle slip ons and arlen ness big sucker if it fits, if not se breather will be fitted. another mechanic suggests power commander, arlen ness big sucker and outer cycle slip ons,, and a well experienced and respected engine builder says leave it all alone and maybe just change mufflers and if i wanted to fit anything go with the thunder max, any suggestions???

Tyre (fitted) was $330, synthetic fork oil was $120 so it looks like I paid roughly $450 for the service

harley city charged me around the $350 mark for the first service. i was also told by them that an oil change should be done every 4000ks as an air cooled motor will burn oil before the 8000k service. as for johnny's hog shop, my old man got his sporty serviced & a few small repairs done there & he was very happy with their work. i've never been in there myself. harley city has a spotless workshop & my bike was detailed better then new. pitty i rode it through the rain to geelong that night & covered it in shit. the detail alone was almost worth the service cost but i don't know if it is a standard service or i just got lucky.

Spoke to the service dept at Fraser's Perth this morning and I was told a first service on a Sporty 883 was between $300 and $350.  When asked what they charge that for I was told oil and parts and a 'really good check over'.  Well, that's it then, what I wouldn't pay for a really good check over.  Now I will have to look around at other options.

If I'd known that the money Harley Heaven charged me to include the Sonic pipes included $140 for labour (fitted on bike pre delivery) I would have told them I'm doing it myself.

I've done it a few times before and it's shit easy. Good fun too.

Save yourself some money Bro and do it yourself.

Fatboy is just 250k's short of it's first service, thought I'd ring around for pricing. Trivett Sydney quoted $460.00 I asked if there was a discount (as I purchased my bike there) and low and behold they are running a December special at $400.00 this still seems to be a bit expensive as I haven't even insisted on synthetic oil going into the holes yet.

Has anyone had their services done by Frazers, Sy's or Blacktown in Sydney, if so how much or can anyone recommend someone to talk to at these places? I believe that the first service should take about an hour or so at $140.00p/h they want to hit me $260.00 for oil and filter seems excessive to me??
