    Cowering indoors with the whole clan with a mega thunderstorm hits the sunny coast.....filthy heat has brought it on.

    Hope you all had a good one, 
    I was day shift, up at 04:20 for a 05:20 bus, home at 18:45
    couple scotch's with the family now off to bed to do it all again tomorrow.

    Thanks for your dedication Soapbox. Somebody has to keep the country running so all us old buggers can drool our days away.
    I was gonna crack the shits if we got a fire callout during Christmas day lunch, we had 3 callouts on the days leading up to it, 1 escaped grassfire, 1 car off the road, 1 cooking oil fire in a house in town, but the furthest we got the truck out was 100 metres before getting a Stop call from firecom. Then a couple of big electrical storms dropped an inch of rain and cut the districts fire risk dramatically. 
    Dunno about cold beer and cheer PB,  I insisted on cold beer and hot cheer and my girl heartily cooperated.
    Got a whole new year of riding coming up, enjoy it to the max fellas, 'cause if you're lucky to survive you get to a point where you can't do it as much.

    Hey Steve not surprised about the lightning strikes out your way....pretty impressive thunder cracks here but the lightning was some way over the hills. Sat down with my mate and next yrs big ride is under contruction so perhaps this could be the new years resolution.

    caught up with 4 mates yesterday...hatched a ride later in '26 when one bloke heals.one bloke in Toowoomba rest of us here in south west Victoria,1/2 way meet up for a beer or 2.

    I did a Honda Scooter 110 fundraising ride with a few people Nov/Dec 24. They have just finished up with one in Vic and will be doing another in NSW next March. I'm too busy to take two and half weeks off for that run, but might take the Low Rider S up to Bathurst for the Bathurst Bike Show on 28th March to catch up with the crew as they will be in Bathurst that weekend.

    Planning to try and make the ride in Qld later in 2026 which is likley to be Brisbane to possibly Cairns.

    2025 had a last shot at me. Because this was an old school it still has an old flagpole. Just about 15m of 3 inch gal waterpipe, capped on top, bolted between 2 lengths of railway track driven God  knows far into the ground at the bottom.
    Only about 20m from the building.
    When the line of electrical storms with heavy rain blew through yesterday at about 5pm, I was looking out the window when it was hit with a bolt of lightning. Blindingly bright flash, Faaaarkin loud crash of thunder, dog pack is still pretty jumpy.
    Missed ya bastard!
    Good to see a few people planning big trips, for 2026, get it while ya can!
