I just got a quote from Canberra HD to fit 14 inch Burleigh Inswing bagger bars to my 2020 FLHTK - $2742.61 AUD. Looks like I will be saving for a while for this one as I have some medical bills coming up soon.

Jesus Clacka, is that just to fit the bars or to supply and fit?
Burleigh bars are top quality and the purchase price reflects that, but that's an insane price for a bar change.
Getting that quote by itself would be enough to give me medical bills.

The quote is to supply and fit - the whole job - there's a fair amount of labour costs involved. I asked co-pilot what a quote should come to and it came up with similar numbers - It's just the nature of the beast.

It's a "kunntuuvva" job to put it politely. Has been since forever when stock OEM bars came internally wired.
I have seen bills of near 3K for guys bikes I have tuned and think "fuck me on that cost".
And it DOES NOT reflect in the used bike price, no matter what they tell ya !
Very much eye of the beholder I get that, but not my $, sorry folks.

Nature of the beast! I'd have to do it myself, I just couldn't pay someone to change bars no matter how much of a prick of a job it is, fairing nuts bolts wires brake lines, I realise not everyone has either the time or the inclination but jeez that's a big wad.

I park in a shared basement carpark at my apartment so I don't have a secure workspace to work on my bike - that and not having confidence are my reasons for not doing the job myself.

Won't the bike fit in the lift?
