Well its here now an 09 rocker C, 3" forward controls thats it for now, my question is to you rocker owners is are you happy with the lean angle, i know its a HD not a sports but to me that lean angle when cornering is giving me the sh*ts after 17 klms.

The fillers are hitting so early and i want to go lower to be able to ride just normal is it possible.

Are you guys going down lower than the scrapers now, let me know your thoughts please.

LOL thats what i expected on this post, just posted because where i live on the edge of the Adelaide foothills its all curves, i will have to holdup traffic i c and if a corner sign says 25klm i will have to do that speed for the first time in my life.
Retsurht u r right i will sell it in a blink of an eye if im not happy, anyway going for some more klm's today i get used to it.

Dont know about the Rockers but I took a mates VROD for a ride and my softy has a shit load more clearance than it, which was a surprise (and dyna's are bit better again) . None of em are jappa's but some handle better than others. The wider the rear tyre the worse the handling.

i have an 08 softy and my mate has an 08 rocker , i can pull away from him in the twisties cause he scrapes but you dont buy a rocker to carve up the corners , its all about being cool !!! you park next to a rocker and your bike is invisiable !!

Yeah, my rocking horse scrapes easier than my 84 FXST, but that stops me from yahooing. Besides, the quack said if I break my bad leg again "We'll take it off". I'm happy cruising on my rocker, a scrape every now and then let's me know my limits way before I've leaned too far. I've got Works Performance shockies on the 84 which I'm thinking of putting on the Rocker,if they fit. The model shocks that are Pneumatic and can only be adjusted whilst riding. A billet chamber and big adjusting knob that is only connected to one shockie. The other shock just works by itself, automatically adjusting  to the adjustable shock, depending on load.Just drop your hand down and adjust, works good.  Made heaps of difference to my old softy. Yadda Yadda Yadda.   I bought a parts manual and workshop manual with my rocker, and somewhere in it it says the std shocks are adjustable.I've seen the spanner at the HD shop. If that's not good enough,I'll maybe do the switch.

Dont know about the rockers or softtails or Vrods, but I know the Dyna scrapes right through the Adelaide Hills, way more than the Buell did

you have get off the seat and look under the bars to ride hard...that way you turn the handlebars harder than just relying on leaning to turn

You can alter your riding style by trying to enter corners really mild and then use the bikes torque to pull you out of the corner. Or trade in for an old FXR and then you can go into corners smoking hot as well as power out of them.

If my lean angle is to great, I always feel the tarmac touching my boots before anything else.

The clearance did give me a scare a few times. Not even a sharp corner just a sweeper and I'd get a scrape. One of the riding instructors from HART told me if I wanted to ride a rocker I had to use a lot more "body english". I find If I hang off a bit and lean into the mirrors I don't need to lean the bike quite as much.

the HART instructor is correct.MORE BODY ENGLISH REQUIRED .u need to hang off the seat , tuck your body low enough to look under the bars and then you use your body to steer the bars more than using the lean angle of the Rocker to make a turn

Correct...BUT what a heap of compromise's to make to just be able to ride your bike through a corner.
