I've purchased,  inch & a quarter wide westerns from Burleigh Bars to fit my 08 King, the dealer wants $99 an hour to fit , i'd like to do the job myself ,Dave at Burleighs says I should'nt need any extra length in fittings, I'd like to know is there any tricks in removing & replacing the electric throttle? What is the easyist way to run the internal wires, should I cut & add extra length to wires, run them through & rejoin them ? I'm also fitting aileron grips & chrome switch caps, is  there any tricks to fitting these ? any help would be appreciated as I'm 2 hours from dealer.

G/day Scotty, thanks for the reply, I took the headlight nacelle off today & theres plenty of length in the wiring, I'd like to know how to unlock the wiring conector,I think i then should be able to remove the socket pin terminals & feed the wiring back down the new bars,Do you have a part number for the internal throttle grip sensor ? Why can't i reuse the original internal throttle grip sensor ? your help is much appreciated

I took longer to fit the bars, waiting on helpers, got them on, on sunday 9 Nov, Scotty was right, it took 6-10 hours, I was able to reuse the electronic throttle sensor, i had to extend all the other wires but not the ETS wires, the chrome caps & aileron grips were easy to fit, it looks good, i'll try to post pics soon,

I would like to thank all who tried to help,& this forum for making it possible

    Hi Wobble,

I put a set of the screaming eagle 1 1/4 bars on my 08RKC. Once you get into it, a piece of cake.
The Note in the manual says
"Whenever a new twist grip sensor (or ECM) is installed, place the engine run/stop switch in the run position and turn the ignition/light keyswitch to Ignition and back to off four times (without starting engine). All at least three seconds to elapse between ignition cycles to establish the optimum ide speed, there may be initial performance problems if the procedure is not performed, such as high idle or hesitation when the throttle is opened."
