    Hi,
New to the forum, about to upgrade suspension and can't justify $$ for inverted front conversion....for now!
Any negatives or first hand experience with JRI DROP IN CARTRIDGES? VS OHLINS NIX22 VS BIG BEAR 32MM CARTRIDGE KITS? AUSSIE DOLLAR MAKES THE BIG BEAR OPTION $$$ HOWEVER I THINK ITS WHERE IM LOOKING TO??

Have not tried either of the brands you mentioned but am happy as could be with the Progressive gas cartridges that have been in my bike for many years, can't fault them in anyway. Much better than just adding Progressive heavy duty springs which is what I have done with another bike.

I agree, and thinking of them for my 23 SG ST. I have had progressive cartridges in my 16 Heritage forks since 2018, and they have done me well. For my SG ill look at Progressive front and rear.

I have a 24 Roadking and am in the process of deciding on an upgrade for the front end. I fitted the SE Ohlins to the rear as I beleive they are the best available and are priced reasonable compared to other remote reservoir shocks and even cheaper than some.
As for the front end the RKS has no clearance under the nacelle for forks with preload adjusters and requires a hole to be drilled in the tin work to accommodate them which is something I'm a little reluctant to do.
There are many options for front end upgrades some much better than others and many that are way over priced and not sorted.
There are the drop in sealed cartridge options like Legends, JRI, RWD, and the mono cartridge like progressive.  All these options in my opinion are over priced and a compromise as they only offer standard and heavy duty which is 2 spring rates that cater for larger riders. The RWD standard cartridge is for riders up to 136KG so will be a bit harsh for anyone around the 80-100kg range. I think the RWD is the best of this lot as it does have external preload unlike the others next best would be JRI and Legends last.
As for a true cartridge insert the English made Nitron would be the best option and is cheaper than any of the US made drop in sealed cartridges. Nitron will take about 4 weeks to arive but they are built exactly to your specs with a correct spring rate for your weight and unique valving to suit so they will be just about perfect out of the box but still give you the ability to adjust comp and rebound and preload.

Ohlins NIX22 are a great choice but are an off the shelf part with only 2 spring options supplied and generic valving. You can adjust rebound and compression  to fine tune but this will take some trial and error.

Then there is the YSS upgrade kit which is 2 progressive springs and a valve emulator, this kit is by far the best value and will be the best bang for your buck and will set you back $495 for the kit. It requires drilling some holes in the standard damper rod to allow more oil flow for the valve to work but is a simple job for anyone with some mechanical ability.

Another option is the Traxxion kit but you would have to buy direct from the US and with the crap exchange rate and postage it won't be great value but is a great idea as it is built to your weight with correct springs and valves to suit. It is a proper shim stack valve like the Ohlins and Nitron but is integrated into the damper rod. If you could get this kit under 1k I think it is the best option out there for simplicity and function.
It would be great if someone brought this kit in but most distributors just want the off the shelf options.
