Well a old villain is out even after pleading guilty .... Mr Mokbel after being  double crossed by his barrister who was in fact working for the cops. No doubt about his guilt but there is a set of rules that must be followed here in order for our system to function. Funnily the actors have got away without repercussions so is the system broken?

Lots of bullets flying around those circles these days, if I was him I'd be keeping a very low profile, I dunno if it's broken but it sure does seem to be a little different in application at times 🤔

    "Is the system broken?"

The senior police in charge of the whole Nicola Gobbo situation must have known that what they were doing was wrong. The fact that, at least to my knowledge, none of them have been hauled through the legal system makes me think that, in some senses, the system is broken.

Like the layers of government it seems that its near impossible to find the key person who signed off to start this mess. All thats known known is Nicola Gobbo is somewhere with a different name being handsomely rewarded for her betrayal of not only her own client but the system she was sworn to uphold.

The conspiracy theory side of me cant help wondering why the VIC top end of the Cop town are doing a bit of musical chairs…. The practical side thinks they cant work with the Commo Government there...

Well perhaps stoking the conspiracy fire seems like a few yrs back the Vic government pushed through a law capping compensation to people wrongly convicted/jailed to a max of $1million. Yet funnily enough the informant, Nicola Gobbo was paid $2.88mil after suing the government.
