Harley USA bad financials

"The fourth quarter numbers are ugly. HDMC reported $420 million in revenue, a 47% drop from Q4 2023, and posted a brutal $214 million operating loss. Harley’s total revenue for the quarter was $688 million, down 35% year-over-year, with an operating loss of $193 million. Across divisions, HDMC revenue fell 47%, LiveWire revenue slumped 32%, and HDFS somehow managed a 4% increase—because financing motorcycles people aren’t buying is apparently still a business.
For the full year, HDMC pulled in $4.1 billion, a 15% decline from 2023. Operating income remained in the black at $278 million, but that’s still a 58% drop. Harley’s total annual revenue stood at $5.2 billion, an 11% year-over-year drop, while total operating income collapsed 47% to $417 million.
Sales? Also down across the board. Harley shipped 148,862 motorcycles globally in 2024, a 17% decline. Q4 retail sales dropped 15% worldwide, with North America down 13%, EMEA down 7%, Asia-Pacific down 26%, and Latin America falling 7%. For the full year, retail sales dipped 7% overall, with North America dropping 4%, EMEA falling 11%, and Asia-Pacific tumbling 18%. Latin America somehow managed to stay flat—small victories, right?
Looking ahead to 2025, Harley isn’t offering much hope. The company expects revenues to either stay flat or drop by another 5%, while earnings per share are also forecasted to stagnate or decline. With the brand still searching for relevance among younger riders—and EV sales not exactly setting the world on fire—Harley’s road to recovery looks anything but smooth".

Add a possible 25% retaliatory tariff to the new bike prices almost everywhere and they will sell even less new ones, the M8 is a good thing but a house deposit is better spent on a house!

The current crop of HD bikes are better then last 5-10 years offerings, but for the prices and what most enjoy the bikes for, why trade in and drop $15,000-20,000 for the modern equivalent?

Nothing really lights up my runway. Always thought the ‘new’ Fatbob may be a goer but looks never really did it for me and now they are on run out 🤷🏽

    G'day,
go and see Mr. Albo and convince him not to increase tariffs on bikes.
    Good luck.

Did read that some clown got busted driving a cybertruck in the UK. No insurance because they don't pass UK design rules. Coped a fine and lost his penis extension also.

Not likely to be legal there anytime soon by the sound of it, pesky Brits, let's make England the 52nd state

Shouldn't we also recognise the gulf of America somewhere in there...
