Clutch Cable

After peoples thoughts as I've just installed Burleigh's Roller Bar.... 1 1/2" with 8" Riser and mounting for Low Rider S Speedo. Upper Brake Line and replacement and Clutch cables were both 2" over stock. Brake line fitted well, but issues with Clutch cable.

The issue I have with clutch cable is when bikes are delivered the clutch cable is fed through the triple tree along with wires. With the roller bar this meant that the stock clutch cable was too short. When I installed the roller bar I looked at the stock clutch cable and it was too short.

Burleigh supplied a 2" over cable and that is around 1" too short if routed through the triple tree. I spoke to Burleigh and they said that the correct installation is up the frame and behind the back of the bar (see attached photo supplied by Burleigh).

Problem is that through the triple tree it is 1" to 2" too short and up the frame and behind the back of the bar is at least 1" too long.

Before going back to try the original I'm looking at ways of routing the new 2" over as it is a pain to drop the transmission oil and then remove the transmission cover to remove the clutch cable as the exhaust headers block the bottom two bolts.

The original clutch cable is inferior as it had a plastic adjuster, but I did find out after removing and installing the new cable that the plastic adjuster allows you to split the cable and only replace the upper portion to lengthen or shorten the cable. That way you don't have to access the transmission.

Cannot recall if I tried the to see if length of the stock cable would fit when routing up the frame and behind the back of the bar.

Anyone have any comments? By the way... I've also now got rid of those hideous orange lenses

the bars look cool can't help much with the cable as mine was extended from the plastic adjuster, at least you're rid of that crap plastic one
