Who would have thought in my lifetime I could now simple print parts and tools for the bikes!

Doing the fork seals on the Sporty and instead of using a piece of PVC tube I can simply download and print me a tool!  Great thing here is that I also need a 35mm driver so printed one at the same time!  within an hour I have both tools on the workbeach ready to go - bloody marvelous. (and a throttle lock screw and friction thingy)

Great stuff. Are you downloading the data from a catalogue?

No, Its all for free on the 3D sites.  I just search and find and print. Very surprised at the volume of good little things to print out.
happy to help folks out if they find something that they would like printed.

    How much is the printer?

They vary from a couple of hundred upwards.
I’m a total noob so after a chitload of research I decided that Bambu Labs was the best machines for those that simpley want to print vs. Those that want to fuck around tweaking the actual printer itself.

I ended up with a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with and AMS.  (Circa $1800) and it’s so easy to use that even I can print things.

Tell me: how strong are these printed parts?

And what can you print them out of?

    Cheers, Will

    G'day,
remember not to download or print anything that looks like a gun. You'll have a lot  of black wagons with lots of aerials parked outside.

What sort of finish do you get on it when it comes out of the printer mate?
I am a bit sceptical if it could make the throttle lock wedge and expect it to work properly.

How are you going with the 3D printer thing tussuck?
I dismantled the same cruise control / throttle lock thing when I first bought my  bike and the wedge slipper thing was missing so I have never worried about it.
I am assuming these 3 D printers only manufacture plastic components, what sort of finish do you get when it comes off the printer?
Would it be good enough for the throttle lock wedge to work properly?
And the most important question is would you trust a piece of plastic that you have just printed ?
