Hi everyone , Not been around much last couple of yers , sort of lost my Mojo for riding , back in the saddle now though and really enjoying it  , bought a touring bike ,  , thats motivated me to   get the harley fired up and i want to  get the suspension  sorted out , . couple years but very few kilometres ago a put k tech razor lites on the back and had the front springs emulators and oil done ,, but i know dispite taking it back twice  its not set up right ,  just too bumpy and sharp  got 3 bikes and its the worse out of the 3 of them  , so who in adelaide is a suspension guru who i can take it too and get it sorted once and for all ,,

Welcome back Boxa, give Hoey Suspension Services a call on (08) 8262 3600, they are in Adelaide, they helped the million dollar bogan with his road king so Harley's are not out of their realm of experience, there might be others but it's not my neck of the woods. If you do go ahead feel free to post about it in here, gives me something interesting to read lol.

Did ring them , Unfortunatly , my missis was going in for an op ,  so i could'nt get an appoinment before she went in ,  been babysitting since  ever since , BUT good thing is she's on the mend i can now leave the house ,  So i'll give him a ring and book in  soon ,  , i'm fairly sure he will get it better , couple questions for those that know .

But would like thoughts off the people who know ,  my style of riding really suits a touring bike , i don't scarpe pegs and don't use or need warp speed  , road king would suit , BUT  i'm getting older bikes are getting heavier  thats why i got rid of my rt3  , so given a dyna (low rider )  with  front forks done , k tech  shocks ,  screen ,  backrest luggage rack   which it has , i could put probably will put  boards on has well  basicly done up for long distance ,
    OR

    A heritage clasic ,

bearing in mind comfort  and longer days is what i like   whats peoples thoughts was /is  the heritage classic , a big  jump up from a lowrider dyna  with the suspension done , Thoughts please

Assuming twin cam here, It's basically Dyna versus Softail set up soft-ish touring in suspension? Softail rear has limited shock choices, there are good ones available, they can be pricey though, a good suspension place will probably get a Dyna dialled in with more usable stroke, does saddle height matter? The fronts are doable for either, same type of deal although different in diameters.
Having said that I've got a good set under my softails rear that didn't cost the earth but I've not tried touring loaded for bear with them.

For me seat heights a big issue ,  duck leg syndrome ,  hence why   heritage classic , there pretty much the same height has the low rider

So stuck with a short stroke shock either way, probably just pick the one you like best and do what can be done or just get the softy as a stablemate 😁
This is what I have under mine, so far so good.

I have a 16 Heritage and the seat height is nice and low. I put Progressive 422 shocks in the rear not long after i bought it new. I also put progressive cartridges in the forks. Tightened up the ride nicely and took it away from handling like a 48 Lincoln.

Well finally got a day free to run it up there , , Job well done  i can feel the difference , I don't think it was too far out but the front did'nt seem right and the rear shocks , i could'nt put my finger on it but knew they were not right , anyway Pete had a look adjusted it all for me , an i will say it handles a lot better , I will start by saying i'm not a racer , so really straight of the shelf will outperform my skills , but  wherass  before the front just seemed very heavy , direct but heavy , and the back  jarred my bones over every bump  , He said the fronts probably riding wrong due to the back being out ,  end result  ,   was the bike handles a lot better ,  front  although heavier than stock , is  not so bad now and very direct  , the baclk  i can  feel is a lot better  no bumping me out the seat if i hit undulations on a bend , all in all pleased with it .
Now was it worth the expense of  everything , answer is yes  ,  its improved the handling which can only be good , But has it improved the comfort  answers NO , , i'll explain  ,  its the seat  , i still get the sharp shock   on some bumps , most are ok but some still sharp ,  but the stock seat is  very thin , the sundowner seat however  , absorbs the bumps more so obviously     that smoother   ride i was after  unless i put the touring seat on is'nt going to happen , , just to change the comfort  a good seat is all you need , to make it handle better ,  spend  what you can afford . .

I also larnt a valuable lesson , want a cruiser buy one , want a tourer buy a tourer
