Hi I’m thinking of replacing my standard speedo on my 2000 Harley Davidson FLSTF Fatboy with one of these speedo / tacho and wondering if anyone has usd one of them before?

Not that exact one but one that looks very close to it on a 2006 wideglide, if you are concerned about anything in particular feel free to post it up but honestly they are easy to install and work just fine.
You can't adjust the odometer k's though so it starts at zero on these older ones.
Just be sure the one you get fits your model.
    Enjoy.

So they don’t plug in and transfer what km’s are on the original speedo when installing them ?

I believe on older bikes, i think pre injected, the dealer has to change the Km on new speedo to match your original.
Where as with newer model bikes with Injection / ecu,  you plug in and the ecu has all the bikes info and after a shortish ride, it puts the current Km onto the new speedo.

Like Steamer said later ones you can change, there is a time limit on doing it, that won't worry you, as for the older ones like yours I didn't think they could be, maybe I'm wrong there though.
The Gauge PDF (if it works) has the USA legalities about changing odometer readings in it, it doesn't mention actually setting your current readings to the new one.

Yeah had read that too which makes me wonder with the plug in it transfers the km’s over

So you are saying it wouldn’t let you transfer the data across from the original to the new one ?

That is my understanding, you could always ask the dealer if they can do it but everything I've read either says no outright or alludes to it with legal warnings about disclosure of original odometer reading.

Maybe I would just need to keep a record of original mileage when I changed it over if I decided to proceed with the idea

    I put a combined speedo/tacho into a 2008 Softail Custom in 2011.

Original bike had 66,000 K's on it.

I (ahem) just fancied a change of look. (Now that's what they ALL say haha..)

New speedo came with a wee use once jack plug. I didn't use it.

Plugged in the new speedo/tacho and off around the block to test it, coupla K's and BINGO 66,000 K's showing.

The original speedo has been in several "grey import" bikes since to pass RAWS and local pits.

Each bike at 66,000 K's haha...even if they were LESS which most were !

MPH speedos straight back in in some cases once registered.
