Hey all. I just built a crazy 131 m8. Darkhorse crank & the works. +2.5mm valves, you name it. As we do we want more, so why not a nitrous kit?
    2021 Breakout 131 pro stock.
    Recommendations?

So you have built it to race Pro stock ??

It wouldn't have enough horsepower for Pro Stock.

Pro Stock on a Breakout, low/flat sevens at over 180mph?

My recommendation, a different motorcycle. Plus Pro Stock class is naturally aspirated as far as I know so no nitrous.

Pro charger or turbo... Nitro is too short lived and a poor mans turbo anyway.

That’s where your wrong nitrous isn’t cheap or a poor man’s game
It’s quicker and easier to install not cheaper in the long run  turbo
Is far better for on going costs  no lag with nitrous though
But as mentioned any forced induction turbo, nos, supercharger
    Won’t be in pro stock

Nit picking, but beware of terminology abbreviations.  Nitrous oxide gas is called nitrous for short, Nitro is short for nitro methane. I wouldn't run nitro in a street motor even if someone else were picking up the tab.

Fuels eligible for Pro Stock bike is usually ANDRA homologated race fuels, like  VP QM25 ,  Roo. or ,Methanol. Some years back we looked at running methanol in a Pro Stock bike. It would for one thing have shifted us so far from baseline performance tuning for that engine as to have nothing else to compare it to.

There will be no lag with turbo either on an engine that size, if the turbo is sized correctly etc... :-)

Not intentionally, just wanted a tuff bike that will get me into the low 9s. Has 200 @ wheel now on pump gas ⛽️
I spoke with my engine builder and he said no nitrous hahaha
I might see what it does as it is.

    Thanks for all the information.
Still using the m8 platform, just see what we can do with it.
Gets a tune next week after I put a few ks on it. I would definitely like to try methanol, but probably won't happen. As it is my street bike, so having it running on pump gas is necessary.
I'll let you know what it does,

Going down the methanol path is a lot more complicated than just re mapping/jetting for the fuel.
The maintenance regime for this fuel is consuming to say the least, to use the term fuel economy with methanol is quite in error, there is no fuel economy to speak of, not to mention the build requirements for this fuel.

At 200hp RW you are right on the limit of the stock fuel pump. Have you fitted a better one?

Edited as I realised that my question had already been answered.

Low nines capability is going to be pretty hard to get down the track and actually achieve on a street bike and still two seconds too slow to be competitive in Pro Stock Bike.

And at the risk of being negative I'm fairly confident that 200 rear wheel hp in a Harley Breakout isn't going to do a low nine down the quarter. I'm happy to be wrong though.
