Advice on Changing from Forward Controls to Mids (Sportster 48)

I have a 2017 Sportster 48 with stock forward controls. I am looking to change them to mid controls.

Does anyone know if there would be any issues doing this with Vance and Hines Short Shots? I'm imagining I'd probably have to take off the front exhaust pipe to get to where the controls need to go.

Also, I have seen a few used mid controls for sale on ebay (only found overseas ones when I was looking), but usually they state that they don't have any of the fixing screws, etc. Is this something that I could easily source myself, or use from my existing forward controls?

Other option is to buy a kit with all the bits included. I found the TC Bros. Sportster Mid Controls Kit, but I am not so keen on the position of the mid controls being 5cm higher than normal. Haven't really found any other mid control kits (I wasn't really considering cheap Chinese stuff), but if anyone knows of any, I would be happy to hear about it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

G'day cobber, V&H website will tell if your short shots will fit with mids, Ronnie's parts finder online will give you pics and numbers for all the hardware, be able to tell from that what you need that you haven't got already if anything.

Thanks very much, Hilly, for pointing me in the right direction. I'll go have a look at those sites. Much appreciated.

No probs mate, sorry I don't have a definite answer but my feeling is the short shots will be fine with stock mids and you will use the bolts you have, if you buy second hand make sure you get the shift rod as well.
