Hi. Anyone got a hammock seat and have an opinion on it. I now have osteoarthritis and riding has become a bit of a chore. I am getting the loan one from Harley Heaven to try. Sat on one on a guys bike the other day and seemed good. Would be interested to get an opinion from someone who has a few kilometres on one. Cheers   I have a 21 Heritage Classic.

I was having trouble on long rides with the other half getting uncomfortable. We tried the rental seat for a weekend and she gave it the tick. It was also better on a long run for me as a bonus. So we bought a real one. Don't get me wrong it's a good seat, but the rental seat must have been a bit flogged out. Our new seat is like 25mm higher than the renter. Bear that in mind if your inside leg is a bit short. Seat is fine, but the extra height alters low speed manoeuvrability and screen protection.

Thanks mate. I was told by HH you had one and I tried to call you. The height is a factor because I am short. I currently have a solo sundowner seat so I was wondering if that’s a bit higher than standard. I’m ok with the Sundowner but would like a bit more comfort with my now crappy back. Thanks for the reply. I’ll try calling you again. I’m in the Barossa. Cheers

Sundowner usually moves you up and forward a little compared to stock, at least that was my experience with my Dyna, you might be ok?

    I have a 2018 heritage and a hammock seat - but I love my back rest !
I’m heavy - ish around a 100 kg ….. done 17.000km with the seat and it’s good , pillion likes it also .
Have tried the standard seat and it isn’t as comfy .
This could be a me thing and no fault of the standard seat .
I like the way it sits you up straight ,I’m not tall ( average ) but I can easily flat foot the bike as I have to push it out of the shed backwards

with the 4 different Harley's I've owned none of the std seats were comfortable, I've used aftermarket HD (some were ok but I didn't like the look of them) also tried the Saddlemen Step-up (pushed me too far forward) in the end I've settled on a Lepera Kick-flip seat and my ass love's it-  https://lepera.com/v4_Deluxe_Heritage_result.php

It's great to find a seat you like, I have few seats for my slim, every one of them except the stock one get a run from time to time depending on the circumstances, I sometimes think it's overkill but when I go to get rid of any a little voice says nar, you will regret it.

Yes , it is ( or should say ) very comfortable for me .
The stock seat makes my back ache as I am sitting to far back and find I have to slouch to the bars .
This one is a more upright position if that makes sense
Sitting on this bike is like riding an old lover , it’s just ‘ right ‘

Went for a 100k ride yesterday. Not that far I know. Enough to convince me. Ordering one today. That loaner seat programme is great. Cheers

The seat on my bike can give you a sore arse cos it doesn't have a lot of padding. I can't be bothered going to the trouble and expense of a new seat so I thought I might try one of these.
It's an el cheapo off the internet ($18) .
Anybody tried them or anything similar?
Hoping to give it a try at the weekend.

Have an AirHawk,  about 20 years now. Only used couple times, as my Sundowner is good.  But always take away on long trips, just incase.

Airhawks are good, comfort wise (disclosure: I have a couple, one on each bike), but they do have a disadvantage in that they put you a little higher in the seat and sometimes a little bit further forward.
What I do is strip the seat cover off and cut the foam to the thickness of the airhawk, put the airhawk in the seat in place of the foam and recover the seat with the original cover.
    Works for me
    Cheers, Will

Took the bike for a short run yesterday arvo after work and my first impression is that it is better with the cheap seat cover thing than without.  I didn't notice any difference in the riding position even though I must be sitting an inch or so higher.
It's not waterproof so that could be an issue if you got caught in the rain .
Not going to make my mind up until I've been sitting on it for at least a couple of hundred K's straight.
If I decide that it's any good I will probably end up getting something better, sounds like the Airhawk might be the go.

Got the new hammock seat. Went for a 300 k ride the other day and loving it. Very comfortable and no backrest was ok. I now have the single sundowner seat for sale for $250. That’s half new price. Seat is a1. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm and I will send pics. Cheers.

I’ve done 70K with the Hammock on my old ‘18. Missus loved the pillion. Riders seat is good because its width lets you lever the bike into turns. I’m 6’ 90kg, Missus is 5’8” 60kg. I rate it.
Modded it to fit on the ‘24, see how it goes.
