Red Light

    Hi guys,
    New member here.
    2009 Softail Standard standing roughly 12mths Replaced bike battery, replaced fob battery. Bike ignition turns on everything except the security blinkers, red key light stays on with ignition on, goes out with ignition off.
    Bike in neutral.
    Run switch on, I hear the fuel pump ramp up, Hit start button and nothing, not a single noise. I'm assuming this has something to do with security system? There is fuel in the tank, but it's not even trying to turn over
    I've tried to access the security pin to start with no fob, but seems I have lost access to the indicators? Anyone have a fix or know what this could possibly be? Have been told it could possibly be the starter relay, but I’m thinking it is more likely a security issue.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Do you have a alarm siren if so check it's battery

    I pulled the box last night and found the 9v batt had just below 5v in it. Was also very corroded and the plug not in good shape, so much so that the connector fell apart.

    Gee, what year model? As mine is 2011 and still original alarm battery, so may check & replace, just in case.
      Seems something thats out of sight is often over looked. ( well in my case)

    Pop down to Jaycar and grab a new connector for a couple of dollars

    Or if youre in a rush, steal one out of a smoke alarm. Dont tell the missus but.

    Replaced the connector and the 9v battery, still the same issue. I pulled the starter relay and bridged the circuit, she fires up and runs for a couple of seconds then shuts down. I’m getting a new relay today so that should solve that problem. Still have no blinkers though which is frustrating. I’m thinking it may be the HFSM or the Badlands turn signal mod.
    Pain in the arse!!
