Don't know if this will help "but"...

5HD on the VIN plate just means "international"

    1HD means "US Domestic" only.

Your 5HD could have come from anywhere else in the world.

I have seen them from the UK (personal imports), Dubai and Saudi , and Japan and NZ.

Over the years I have worked on them all. They all tune up the same , TSM or TSSM

If yours was an Aussie supplied new 5HD it would 100% have had a TSSM and a security system.

I know a good breaker/wrecker here in Perth WA that would for sure have a married used WITH FOB TSSM and ECM.

Just need to know the year AND THE model ? Unless I have missed that in the thread ?

(SORRY JUST SAW 09 DYNA fxdc)

THEN SOME JIGGERY/POKERY TO GET IT ALL TO LINE UP LIKE DUCKS.

A GOOD INDY OR HD DEALER PERHAPS ?

Any idea on how much? Dint need to go to dealer to marry it all?

    That's wrong part number.

    ok  68921-07

couple of used ones on ebay ; only way to go if you cant get new
generally secondhand electrical/electronics parts are either good or they're not
How old are the rest of the parts on your 09 ?

I have done a password learn replacing an ecm in a 09 fxdfse ; supposed to be the same procedure for TSM

New stator 12 months ago. 103 engine from 2014, fitted last year. New plugs at same time. New battery few months ago. New battery leads.

I have been following this thread but I  cant get my head around it.
So if your blinkers start playing up you need to buy a new blinker unit and then contact some computer guru who can get it happening but you cant actually buy the blinker unit that you need cos Harley dont make them any more ?
    That's what I call a cluster fuck.
My bike is a 2002 model and the blinkers were playing up so I pulled the switches apart and drowned everything with WD40.
They still didnt work but when I jumped on the bike a week later they were  working like a champion and they're still working fine.
The more I hear about the Harley security /fob/ TSM etc  issues, the more I am inclined to keep this one.

Yep. Absolutely a big shitfight. Considering they built so many bikes. Cant believe they stop making them. Im considering buying an older bike after this.
