Seeing as harley don't make the TSM anymore, what are we supposed to do if you can't obtain one? Most secondhand ones are fucked or will be not far from breaking. Is there a replacement we can use or a work around?

Had a browse on US Harley site. OEM TSM no longer available but they still show TSSM modules. Maybe HD Aust can get one here if they don't have in stock. Will cost you your first born but.

Definately not putting a tssm on it. I dont want the security. The issues with those things are shit lol and need to mortgage the house to fit it.

FYI , the TSM part # 68921-07 fits most model Harleys from 2007 up to 2011 , and Vrods
    from 2007 to 2017 .
Apparently there was an issue with supply of the components needed to manufacture them.

The only option until the aftermarket catches up is a used unit  (or TSSM), or look into rewiring the bike to
fit a universal indicator module .

    TSM turn signal module

    TSSM turn signal security module

ALL of the Harleys sold in Australia since 2007 model year had this TSSM as OEM (some ADR rule back then)

In the US domestic market only CVO models came with TSSM security modules as OEM.

Yank buyers had to pay separately for the dealers to fit the whole TSSM kit and assign it to the bike using the dealer Digitech hand held or trolley mounted computer. So hardly any US customers did !

So MOST second hand bikes from the US don't have factory security and have a TSM.

You can swap either way, but as far as I am aware it needs dealer workshop input to succeed.

I looked into pissing off the security on my own used US import 2008 CVO Springer in 2011, just TOO HARD BASKET

what is the fault/issue with your TSM,my indicators went a bit erratic a while ago, would turn on left side randomly and unable to turn it off, checked fuses and found a fuse with correded pins and receivers, a bit of contact cleaner, new fuse and dielectric grease cured the issue...if you have similar faults.'07 lowrider, sorry cant remember which fuse

Started with indicator and brake issues. Now it wont start. No fuel, no spark. Ive tested it and theres no signal coming through tsm to allow fuel and spark.

There has to be a work around for tgis. Harley have left everyone in the lurch with all of these in not making them anymore. Ive searched every yank forum and no one has a workaround for it that I've found

Have you any good news for us yet mate ?

Abit of a late question but I assume your bike is a used US import ?

Not sure. I thought it was, bit the vin says otherwise. No solution as yet. I might have to just bite the bullet and by a secondhand one. Not happy that harkey don't make them anymore. It's 15 years worth of bikes that will need them going forward.

Don't know if this will help "but"...

5HD on the VIN plate just means "international"

    1HD means "US Domestic" only.

Your 5HD could have come from anywhere else in the world.

I have seen them from the UK (personal imports), Dubai and Saudi , and Japan and NZ.

Over the years I have worked on them all. They all tune up the same , TSM or TSSM

If yours was an Aussie supplied new 5HD it would 100% have had a TSSM and a security system.

I know a good breaker/wrecker here in Perth WA that would for sure have a married used WITH FOB TSSM and ECM.

Just need to know the year AND THE model ? Unless I have missed that in the thread ?

(SORRY JUST SAW 09 DYNA fxdc)

THEN SOME JIGGERY/POKERY TO GET IT ALL TO LINE UP LIKE DUCKS.

A GOOD INDY OR HD DEALER PERHAPS ?

What's your nearest city/town? One of us might know someone close to you that could perhaps help, I dunno if a second hand unit can be married in or not as I've not tried to do it but that is looking like(as Retro noted) your most promising avenue ATM.
