Seems like it's being used for political ends, most likely will end badly and cost the taxpayer a packet in the process, there is a lot going on we know nothing about, confidentiality clauses at every turn, 2028 is aways off, god only knows(I doubt it) what will be the state of affairs by then.

trying to bring the international game into NRL will only diminish its competitiveness & equally as boring to watch....

I agree to an extent but we actually owe a international side a huge debt of gratitude for allowing our game to survive...without our Kiwi brothers relocating to Australia over covid we would not have had NRL today. They are also a top 8 side. I am sure that PNG will put on a show but would be interested to see how much the bookies put on them for the wooden spoon.

I saw this morning after posting that PNG side will be the longest odds ever of winning the comp in first season....$151. PNG have fired back saying they will lift the cup within a decade.

shame Kiwi NRL sides cant quite get their shit together tho - there is sooo much potential....just got back from NZ & its great to see me lil nephews AND nieces talking up so keenly on playing junior RL....when i was a nipper there, it was all Union - so now they play both codes at a whim giving them much broader skills...

Depends who you are and how much lawyer you can afford it would seem, hardly justice for the injured little girl is it, plus what sort of deterrent is that exactly?

Zero deterrent at all...$850 fine for a multimillionaire....gee that's harsh, NOT!
We have also seen Addo car skip any real punishment unless you consider being put on show for telling lies about his actions publicly as a form of punishment.

It shows you how fucked the system is that driving with a phone is more financially detrimental than drug driving while suspended and injuring a child!

They must have a pic of the beak in a compromising position with a goat or something.
