Probably a stuffed switch, should be able to get a replacement pretty easy.

    Beware the WD40.
Has been known to melt certain plastics.
Made a small fortune over the years replacing switches because someone "freed them up" with WD.

Remove the lens and check power, trace the power back, perhaps the earth is broken or poor... there is a possibility albeit slim, that both globes (if you have globes) have blown.
If the globes are good and there is power at the globe base then run a seperate earth wire to the frame.. worst case is the indicator module is faulty but try all other avenues first..

I had a similar problem with the right blinker so I sprayed anything that moved with WD40 and it came good for a couple of days.
It stopped  working two days later so I pulled the blinker switch apart and sprayed the whole fuckin lot with INOX.
The blinkers dint work then either but they came good the next time I got on the bike.
I still cant get the smile off me face.
