Hi, probably been asked before, but.
After owning over 20 bikes and only now having one with a black motor, FLHCS, what’s a good method of keeping them looking fresh on the outside.
Any tips or products that are the go? I normally just use household kero and cheap dishwashing liquid.
    Thanks in advance.

Stuff I've used over the years to keep the black looking "wet" after washing with whatever rocks ya boat.
S100, expensive stuff, touted as being the ducks guts, certainly does the job.
CRC Silicon spray, also expensive, some say builds up a layer, i didn't notice that, dunno.
Export Tyre Shine, cheap as from Supercheap, haven't seen any drawbacks using it, someone on here put me onto it, can't remember who.
Plus what Evo said, i can't remember why i stopped using that, but i know i did on the sporty, that was over 20 years ago though, many a pickled brain cell since then.

Can you still get S100 in Oz, it works great, would like to find a supplier here.

definitely don't use dish wash liquid. I use this spray on hose off stuff called motomuck Repco sells it and I think it is like the s100 product but less expensive. I spray it all over the engine and wheels but not on the polished stuff tank etc, I'll put a link up tomorrow. it's the large container in the middle, price approx $50 for 5 litres

Harley actually produce a product for this...Engine Brightener. It does work well other than showing dust after applying and then going for a ride.

Here's a link I just noticed it is NZ made, this is the best cleaner I have used on motorcycles and the best thing is it is just spray on and hose off (no elbow grease required)- https://motomuckproducts.com.au/products/motomuck-cleaner-5-litre

This is turning out to be just like a  "what's the best oil" conversation.
The good thing about the stuff in the pic  is you don't even have to wash the fucker.
Knock the dead bugs off and spray the motor.  Makes it look brand new.
Anything with silicon in it should do the same job.  I have used Armorol before and it came up smick.
I've been a bit slack in the engine silicon spraying department for at least a year but it still looks OK .
( how good is  that ?  dont even have to turn the pic 90 degrees )

Does anybody know what sort of tree it is ?
