2003 Fatboy front fender issue

Hi,
The tires on my 2003 Fatboy have just been replaced. Couldn't get HD whitewalls (same as what came off it), so went for shinko SR777 White Wall 150/80-16 for the front & Shinko SR777 White Wall 150/80B16 for the rear. The rear is fine - no issues, the front however is definitely wider than what came off it - which was a MT90R16 and of course, the front fender although it fits back on, there is stuff all clearance - about 1/4" at the sidewall. What are my options here? Given I've already fitted the tire, probably can't send it back, so I'm guessing I need to modify the front fender. Would it be a matter of elongating the holes and lifting the fender up 1/2" or so?

You won't really gain anything by lifting it will you, I mean the guard brackets will still be the same distance from the side wall and going by the tyre sizes re pics you should be fine between the tread and top of the guard.

You probably should of fitted a 130/90-16 front tyre (it's the closest to oem size and it should handle better to), imo changing the tyre may be the less expensive option

yeah, combination of being in a hurry, using phone to buy online and one too many jacks....
Now I've had a day to think it over, Just going to buy the right tyre and either use this one for a rear tyre come next change, or sell it i guess

don't know to be honest. Ended up buying same brand, but right size tyre - will get here in a few days. They said that I can use the front one on the back, just change rotation around - so I guess all is not lost. Chalk one up for a life lesson.

I am confused. Why would you need to change the rotation? Doesnt the back wheel turn in the same rotation as the front?
