Anyone had trouble with ‘fly by wire throttle’ sticking? I mean the throttle hand grip being notchy. Coming back from Great Ocean road yesterday on pissy main three lane road, overtook on outside lane and throttle kinda stuck and increased speed dramatically , with a Highway Patrol right in my fucken face. Looks like I’m gunna have some time to investigate the cause, off road for a bit, with large donation required to boot. A tuning issue me thinks. Fuck fuck fuck.

If there was a mechanical failure (sticky throttle) then you have grounds to appeal the fine.

Sounds like the sensor is on the way out ol mate, expensive little piece of plastic it is too, if you wanna look at it pull the grip off, it's stuck in the end of the bar, have a twist of it with your fingers and you will be able to tell if it's sticky or notchy, it happens.

If you are serious about fighting the speeding charge, you should take the bike to a shop. A report from a suitably qualified third party would carry more weight in court.

Answering your question, I have fly-by-wire on my 08 Electra glide, had it since new and it has 129,000 kms on it and never had that issue with it.
There was a recall regarding the throttle not long after I bought it but I can’t remember what it was they did.
