Thinking of a CVO Deuce

Hi folks, I am usually more active in the CVO Springer threads, I have a 2008 FXSTSSE2, living in Perth Western Australia
I am looking for a second Harley, principally to spread the K's covered over 2 bikes.
The 2003/4 CVO Deuce is one of the bikes I am considering. These were never sold new in Australia.
I did have a two tone blue and silver 88" Deuce from new in 2000, the first to be sold in Western Australia, kept it some years.
So the point of this post is, anything I should look out for with this model ?
I have become a wee bit of a CVO Springer "expert" thru necessity.
Also does anyone know of any CVO Deuce for sale in Australia ?
I could import a used bike from the USA.
$10K USD all day long for a low K's example. (plus shipping plus GST plus "compliancing" costs) from HD dealers.
My FXSTSSE2 came from red Rock HD in central Texas in 2011. Aussie dollar was historically high then !
Thanks in advance fellas for any and all information on the 2003/2004 CVO Deuce.
For what it's worth the other 2 bikes on the shortlist are a 2008/9 Rocker C and 2007/8 CVO Dyna.
Both sold new in Australia and more numerous here on the market now.

Mate of mine had a vivid black 2003 Anniversary Deuce. it was a sweet looking bike ( I like black )
He had a big bore kit put in it and it went really well. Never a problem with it.
I don't know a lot about the CVO colours in that year.

Only drama's would be the same as all the twin cam engines of that era, cam chain tensioners, starter clutch an ring gear if it's got higher comp than stock, limited cam lift with stock heads, crank should be good though.

The engine was "just" a 1450 with 1550 slugs from the factory. Most Deuces sold by Frasers had the 1550 slugs put in here in Australia as an aid in moving the bikes as they were slow sellers (by Harley standards!) at the time.
This may have been the reason none of the official Australian importers brought the CVO FXSTDSE to Australia.
All of the CVO Deuce had Delphi EFI, most Aussie sold 1450 bikes then still had carbies.
The factory cam in the CVO I am sure was an SE 203.
On the US forums they bemoan the lack of parts available for them now. Only made for 2 model years 2003 and 2004
Many new parts NLA from the factory.
I just fancy one as I had a 2000 deuce from new. Just a "gruntier version" haha..
I have seen two 2004 models here in Perth WA.
One Blue (a dog of a thing cosmetically, I worked on it !) and one Chrome Yellow, a real peach of a thing.
That would be 7 or 8 years ago and not seen either since.

So many market places now as well, hard to keep track of them all, I don't think I've ever seen a CVO Duece, I will keep an eye out for you though.

Thanks mate, I had come across that pair already in my travels.
The privately owned one is particularly clean, but the seller has too high a price/value on it.
Don't want to fall out with the guy his correspondence has been fine.
He is asking MORE than CVO Springer money and that's just daft.
In the US FXSTDSE Deuce CVO are $10K USD all day long, and that's the advertised ask.
Quite a few for sale over there, HD and other dealers, Craigslist etc etc. Many by the first (now elderly) owners.
With the Aussie shekel at current levels it may be /SHOULD be easier and less exxy overall to pick one up here already.
I am friendly with the last Perth Compliancing place so an ex-US bike will be no worries other than the 16 weeks+ go to woah.
Privately used HD sales are in the biggest slump that I can remember in 28 years of Harley ownwership.
A shame for sellers, but good for any buyers I suppose.

Good luck with your search, link to US market.

Thanks mate , from $8500 USD to $11K USD for a real low miler.
Some of those (not all by far!) I had come across myself.
Most around the $10K USD mark. There's a bone stock 2003 in a Harley dealer in Illinois. TEMPTING...
