The SG looks a bit too much like an Indian?

In orange an black it looks harleyish, I like the look of them both, cleaned up the lines a bit, makes them more visually pleasing to my eye, that engine though, I'm really interested in knowing what they have done and how they have gone about it, they are certainly trying their best to keep the mostly air cooled monster on the road, a Road King version in that group would of got my attention a lot more, see what the next model year brings in August.

I still wouldn't have one, can't do fairings, I like to see the road in front of the horses head, mind you a road king could work.

CVO Springers were $58K Aussie dollars ride away in 2008. Frasers Perth only sold 2 and perhaps the same again from the other dealers around the rest of WA. All the WA dealers at that time were beholden to Frasers so really Frasers sold them all.

That was a truly mental price all those years ago. Price of 2 Wide Glides damn near!

Maybe these 2023 baggers are not so bad by comparison ?

    Not my cuppa tea tho'.

As much as some cvo's look great,  i would not pay the price. I would rather personalise a standard bagger.

Heck yeah the price is up there, a few blokes I know have or have had CVO's, I've ridden most of them, funny thing they don't feel any different haha, the springer softails are a different beast, I have to keep reminding myself to look at where I'm going rather than watching the suspension in action, it's pretty trick.

VVT, something else to stuff up when they get a bit older. Still not enough rear suspension travel at 75mm for rough roads, and that low level radiator looks very prone to rock damage. I could get cynical and say all that doesn't matter, because they're never going to do a lot of miles, particularly on rough or rocky roads but I won't, because I saw my first Fast Johnnie blue Road Glide in Esk on Sunday.
Looks like the Indian Challengers might have a bit more competition in bagger racing next year. I'm good with that, because that water-cooled
8 valve motor was once previewed as the next generation Victory motor.

These new bikes have a 2-Level-CAN-BUS Communication a bit like the Pan America, it puts the ECM out of reach however all the diagnostics are available to the masses, might take awhile for the aftermarket to break into this set up, I be there is some head scratching going on.

Also the parts catalogues for them are live on H-D SIP now so you can have a gander at the engine, trans and electrical updates if you are interested.

My BMW 1200 gs also has a can bus set up but I bought a power commander piggyback to be able to fiddle the fuels ratios a bit.

Clip of it on the dyno.....

I thought they would have been over 110hp and 120 ftlb's of torque I wonder what upgrades would be possible with the VVT I imagine it would make changing/finding a cam difficult?

    From another forum
"There is a Facebook group for owners of the new 2023 CVO.  Most people love the bike, but lots of reports of pain in the butt problems, some more serious than others (like engine cutting out or going into limp mode).  Most have to do with the electronic stuff on the bikes.  Harley test rides the new bikes; I have no idea how this type of stuff can slip by.  I seriously hope the bugs are worked by the 2024's!
