I am getting the impression Harley Davidson has no interest in doing warranty work. 

Harley never does have much interest in warranty work, but they are obliged to do it 

No money it it for the dealer, but hound the piss out of them, they have to honour warranty 

As others have said. Hound them, Do Not take No for answer. Try get all correspondence in Writting, like email, or print out from workshop notes. 

Last time I had a problem with the shop (12 years agoI did post it up on HDF) I got in contact with the bloke who is in charge of all warranty work for ANZ (searched around and found his number) and gave him a mouthful of abuse. He told me to back my fucking truck up (lol) he then explained a few things to me about believing everything you read on the internet and then had my bike fixed. The shop was not happy but fuck em its warranty work!!
