Would love any advise on what to try next:

I have acquired the ability, through a life of research and training my smell and taste buds to know the difference in VB and the subtle changes of flavor from a can a stubby long neck and keg beer.
Now as an older gentleman I am broadening my use of alcohol to enjoying the flavours of more refined booze
Just the last few months have been trying bourbon:
Bourbon Whiskey is a kind of American whiskey drink, a barrel-matured refined soul made fundamentally from corn. The name, at last, comes from the French Bourbon line, although the exact motivation for the bourbon's character is unsure. Bourbon Whiskey has been refined since the eighteenth century

This Wild Turkey is the expensive one there are 2 on the market.
My recommendation for a 10/10 Borbon

101 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 700mL

Bourbon Kentucky is a very nice drink. Although myself didn’t take it to excess as I did with Scotch Whiskey in my earlier days. Is a smooth snort. Twas  drinking Gin, big time of late. Hence  non drinker at present or non liver. Beer is good, but I’m one of those cunts that thought “nothing exceeds like excess” how wrong that statement is. A couple is cool, not bottles. Remember when Wild Turkey became readily available, it was a cheaper Bourbon . Remember when old VB was a mainstay for many years,  aye. Most I know now, drink Great Northern mid strength, those still alive. It’s raining and fucken cold here atm, but fuckit today I’m going for a ride cause I’m not pissed.

I have Dubliner and port as sippers while I am having a Scotch

I don't have a drinking problem, does that sound like a problem?

3 of us on a recent motorcycle adventure managed to finish a bottle of the delicious Dubliner with honeycomb in one sitting!!
Another nice drop is Drambuie. Make a Rusty Nail cocktail: 1 shot of Drambuie & 2 shots of a fine single malt - yum!!!

OK, a couple of points of advice. First, don't mention VB and good taste together, dont admit to drinking it, piss it off. Or piss in it, that can only improve the taste.
2nd, any of the bottles in the pic are superbly smooth sipping drinks at ambient temperature, say on a cold night round a fire. Although I prefer my Scotch with a couple of ice cubes in the tumbler, just tradition I guess.
This advice probably should come with health warnings. The book titles in the background suggest what they might be.

For something different I will occasionally mix equal parts vodka and Bailey's.  Very easy to drink .  But a word of advice, make sure you screw the lids on tightly  because both bottles can mysteriously evaporate in one sitting .

What's with the Bailey's? You blokes got stomach ulcers? And yeah, good advice on screwing the lids on tight, a lot of drinks evaporate easily like that.

Could be a problem if you were having them for breakfast.

Nice! A subject after my own heart.
Love Bourbon and Rum. Being a member of the Rum Tribe where they send you some rum each month, I'm getting to try some really nice rums.
My Bourbon of choice is between Elijah Craig and Knob Creek. Usually keep a couple of each on hand and for mixing in an Old Fashioned you can't go past Buffalo Trace.
Friday or Saturday Night I kick back with a good drink and pair it with a good Cigar

I may need to remove this topic as I have just test run the Dubliner
FFS I had no idea grog could taste like that. Straight up on ice 10/10

Lets not discuss beers in this new thread.  Queenslanders  have no fuckin idea when it comes to beer.
I will have the last comment but. A cold VB is hard to beat.
I was up in Bundaberg back in the day and got smashed on the rum. Woke up with a shocking hangover and never drunk the shit again. If it was a toss up between xxxx and rum I would go for the vegetable smoothie.

For the others on here who like to sip tequila, and whose bottle doesn't have an Agave grub in it,  pm me if you want some.
I can almost hear the distillery workers laughing Those gringos are so gullible, as they go out to the pit toilet to dig out maggots to drop in the bottles.

Maybe the mob that makes the Bundy rum should drop a big witchity grub in the bottle. It would probably improve the flavour.
The abos would be queueing up for the shit too.

Just tried to buy a Jim Beam double oak but no joy. Spent some time in there and came out with this sucker
It’s supposed to be the top of the Wild Turkey.
Maybe I should ring John Laws
